The Trojan War History – The Trojan War was the war of the Greek kings against the city of Troy and is the subject of one of the most famous ancient Greek legends. Perhaps the legend has its basis in a historical war that took place around 1200 BC. Paris, the son of King Priam of Troy, had abducted Helena, who was married to King Menelaus of Sparta. His brother, King Agamemnon, was the supreme leader of the revenge campaign against Troy, in which a number of Greek nobles participated: Akhillevs and his friend Patroclus, Diomedes, the two Aiases, the ancient Nestor of Pylos and Odysseus.
